The birth of the Feline Historical Museum was celebrated during the opening ceremonies of the Cat Fanciers’ Association. The museum is billed as the world’s largest devoted to felines, featuring a cat library, feline-related artwork and historical items. The foundation has an abundance of additional artifacts and pieces of art in storage, and the items will be rotated periodically.
The cat museum was installed in the lobby of the old Midland-Buckeye Bank building in Alliance, Ohio, which was purchased by CFA as its new world headquarters.
Don Williams, a founding member of the CFA Foundation board of trustees, explained the museum is a “dream come true” for him — and one that took more than 20 years to come to fruition. Williams served on the CFA board for 27 continuous years, and for 14 of those years was president of the board.
